What are the characteristics of hypochlorous acid disinfectant

What is hypochlorous acid?

Using tap water as raw material, adding a small amount of salt, the liquid produced after electrolysis is hypochlorous acid solution. The molecular formula is: HCLO.

Hypochlorous acid sterilization principle

Hypochlorous acid has a strong oxidizing power, which can oxidize and decompose amino acids in the enzyme proteins of microorganisms and lose their activity, leading to metabolic dysfunction and death. Since most pathogens (bacteria, fungi (including mold), viruses) are prokaryotic organisms, their enzyme systems are mostly distributed on the surface of cell membranes, which are vulnerable to attack by hypochlorous acid and lose their activity.

Characteristics of hypochlorous acid disinfectant

Different from other disinfectant products, hypochlorous acid disinfectant is sterilized by physical methods (its oxidation feature has the ability to take away electrons from the nucleus of bacteria, viruses, etc., so that bacteria and virus cells lose their activity and die). After the action of hypochlorous acid, the main products are water and trace other substances, so it has the characteristics of no residue and no toxicity.

Compared with other disinfectant products, the hypochlorous acid disinfectant can complete the sterilization in a short time of 5-20 seconds, and the sterilization efficiency is as high as 99.99% (alcohol takes 5-10 minutes, and ultraviolet sterilization takes more than 30 minutes).

The human body also produces hypochlorous acid. When harmful bacteria and viruses from the outside invade the human body, the white blood cells secrete hypochlorous acid, destroying the cell walls of the bacteria and viruses to make them inactive and play an immune role.
